Protection plates, whether factory-installed or field-installed, must be installed according to the door's listing. Factory-installed protection plates should adhere to the specifications outlined in 6.4.5.2, while field-installed protection plates need to be labeled and installed in accordance with their listing as per 6.4.5.3. Labeling is not necessary if the protection plate's top does not exceed 16" (406mm) above the door's bottom.
When ordering bronze protection plates, please provide the item number, height, width, and finish (e.g., 190S - 6'' x 30'', US32D). Plates are available in even sizes, with odd sizes priced at the next larger size. Counter sunk holes can be included for an additional charge by specifying "CSK" during ordering.
Certificates proving compliance with ANSI A156.6 for J101 Metal Armor Plate, J102 Metal Kickplate, and J103 Metal Mop Plate are available. These plates are proudly manufactured in the United States.
